Running Spectre in Command Line, Warning and Error

Dear All,

I am using Cadence 6.1.5 on CentOS Linux normally. But, when I try to run the Spectre in Command Line, for any simulation, I face this problem:

In the Terminal, when the root of the netlist is set correctly, I use this command:

spectre input.scs

It supposed to be working, however, there is a warning firstly:

WARNING (SPECTRE-12030): The environment variable `AMS_processOption' is not defined, replacing with empty string.

and then the error:

ERROR (SFE-868): "/tools/AMS_HK_410/spectre/h35/soac/processOption.scs" 7: Unable to open input file
`/tools/AMS_HK_410/spectre/h35/processOption/.scs'.
No such file or directory.

First of all, I opened and checked the input.scs. At the very beginning of the scripts, it is written:

include "/tools/AMS_HK_410/spectre/h35/soac/processOption.scs"

The same root as it is written at the error. Then, I found processOption.scs at the mentioned root. In the scripts, it is written:

include "\$AMS_DIR/spectre/h35/processOption/\${AMS_processOption}.scs"

At the above mentioned root, there are a lot of .scs files such as H35B3B0.scs, H35B3C2.scs, and so on. I also opened some of these files and tried to find a name similar to the mentioned environment variable `AMS_processOption'. But, I didn't find.

In any case, if there is a variable such as AMS_processOption or not, what should I do to fix the problem. I am really appreciative beforehand.

You probably need to read the AMS HitKit documentation (I don't have access to it) or ask AMS. I assume you need to do:

    setenv AMS_processOption H34B3B0

(or whatever is the right process option you're using) before starting spectre.

The above is csh syntax; if using ksh/bash it would be:

    export AMS_processOption=H34B3B0

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Dear Andrew,

Perfect! I used the second command and it is working now. Moreover, I learned what was the whole story. I really appreciative of your kind and quick favor.

    Sincerely Yours,

    Milad
