ERROR (SFE-390)?

ttwee
ttwee over 10 years ago

I tried to run multi technology simulation & got this error. Anyone know how to debug this?

Error found by spectre during hierarchy flattening.
ERROR (SFE-390): Either `std' and `N' must be specified.

Thanks

If the problem only shows up with MTS, then it's probably the case that you have in the statistics block something like this:

        vary rnom dist=unif std=.1

In other words, a uniform distribution with a standard deviation rather than N specified. Alternatively it could be that you just have std or N missing (but then I'd expect it to show up all the time when using these models).

There was an issue where this was flagged as an error when using MTS only - in non-MTS mode it translated between std and N automatically. This was fixed in MMSIM13.1 ISR17 and MMSIM14.1 ISR5. So you will need to be using a recent enough hotfix, or correct the statistic block (it's probably a typo anyway).

The error message is rather unclear anyway - I've asked for it to be improved.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
