ERROR(CMI-2049):I0.rg514: Value of 'leff' should be greater than zero

Hi guys,

we changed to the MMSIM Version 13 and since then we get the following error message from spectre during the initial setup

rg514 is a parasitic resistor and i am getting this error message for each parasitic resistance so the problem only occurs when I include the parasitic extraction file in the simulation(postlayout sim). My guess is that the new version asks for l and w of the "presistor" but the extraction file does not give any information about l or w, it is only containing the parasitic resistance value.

The postlayout simulation works fine with the older version we used. Does anybody have an idea how I could solve that problem except going back to the older version?

Alex,

Without being able to see the data, it's rather hard to know what the problem is. I'd be surprised if it's the fault of MMSIM - it may be that there's a check implemented which wasn't there before (although I'm not aware of anything).

I suggest you contact customer support so that we can look at the data.

Hi Andrew, thank you for your reply. I found an option in the run form where you can set that the length and width of the parasitics will be specified in the netlist. After that the simulator wont give that error!
