Is it possible to run Assura LVS under Ubuntu 14.04?

Hello,

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 and running IC616.

Virtuoso runs great expect for ASSURA LVS. ASSURA DRC is able to run but LVS fails.

I receive an error related to the 'sysname' command (please see listing further below this text).

I am fully aware that Ubuntu is unsupported by Cadence.

I have searched online forums and there is some indication that modifying the sysname
script can solve this problem. However I have not had any success with this.

If there is a more up to date forum page on this topic that could help, I would really appreciate
someone pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks so much for your assistance,

Robert

    Hi R Wodnicki

    I think modifying sysname file in $ASSURAHOME/oa_*/bin is most probably the best approach. I got my packages to work in RHEL7 by modifying sysname file too. : )

    Here are my modifications:

    check_linux() {
    version=2.6.32-431.11.2.el6.x86_64 #`uname -r`
    ...
    longVersion="Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation release 6.5 (Santiago)" #`cat /etc/redhat-release`

    Best regards
    Quek
