Layout XL Using Groups Like Instances

is there a way to create a group of objects and then create a duplicate of said group that acts as an instance of that group rather than a separate copy? I'm trying to do some symmetrical layout with self contained sections but don't want to create a lot of sub-cells. My main goal here is to create a copy of a group of objects that tracks every change made to the original group so for example if I were to go inside the original group and add a wire, the same wire would be automatically added to the copy group(s).

    this feature is available in version IC6.1.6 . You can make a copy of an existing group and keep them synchronized. It needs to be set in the copy options.
    You could also try to work with "clones" instead of groups, which is supporting the synchronizing in 6.1.5 already. Please check the documentation for synchronized clones, would be hard to explain it here.


    Please check if you can switch your version to 6.1.6.
