Hierarchical wire extraction using QRC Quantus

Hi everyone,

I'm using Encounter Library Characterizer in order to generate .LIB files from a spice netlist. I have been facing some issues during sequential cell characterization using extracted views, more specifically due to net partition during RC networs.

I would like to generate a extracted netlist in the following way using QRC Assura :

For example -

subckt  wire_A 8 12 24
c0 24 0 0.0595229f
c1 16 0 0.109636f
c2 12 0 0.0920375f
c3 8 0 0.0767396f
r4 16 24 11.0929
r5 12 16 34.4426
r6 8 16 23.1964
.ends

.subckt wire_Y 5 12 16
c0 16 0 0.0282184f
c1 12 0 0.0157995f
c2 5 0 0.375121f
r3 5 16 18.1082
r4 5 12 16.6666
.ends

.subckt INVX1M  Y A VDD VSS
*
MM1 N1  N2  VSS VSS nmos  L=1e-07 W=3e-07
MM0 VDD N3  N4  VDD pmos  L=1e-07 W=6e-07
*
x_wire_A  N2  N3  A  wire_A
x_wire_Y  Y   N4  N1 wire_Y
*
.ends

Is there anyway to do it?

Thanks

    Hi jsaenznoval

It is possible to do it as follows:

    a. Create subcells wire_A and wire_Y on both schematic and layout
    b. Run Assura LVS with ?preserveCell option to ensure that the cells are not expanded
    c. Create a file with the names "wire_A" and "wire_Y" in a single column
    d. Run Quantus parasitic extraction using the file created in step "c" to create a hierarchical extracted view

By the way, please allow me to correct the following:
    -  You should state the full version of tools which you are using. Please read the forum guidelines.
    - There is no tool named "QRC Assura". It is either "QRC" or "Assura" or "Assura-QRC flow"

    Best regards
    Quek
