Hey People,

I wanted to know what is the difference between netlisting connection by order and netlisting connection by name.

Let me know if anyone has any info.

One has the connections by order and one by name! Seems fairly obvious to me, so I can't quite understand your question.

In the connection by order, the subckt definition lists the names of the pins in a particular order, and the instances have the connections in the same order. When connecting by name, the instance lists pinName=netName pairs - so you are associating a pinName on the subckt with a netName where it is instantiated. The order then no longer matters.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Well i was trying Connection By Name and I got an error

*Error* eval: unbound variable - artCurrentInstSimName

So I thought I should try and find the diff between two methods

There's this solution which was due to a custom netlist procedure:

but I suspect the issue you're seeing is due to CCR 1426882 which was fixed in IC6.1.6.500.12 (ISR12). This was "Netlist generation fails with error in case default netlist procedure is not specified while doing explicit netlist". For example, if the netlist procedure in the auCdl simulation information in the CDF for a certain cell was not specified (default should be ansCdlSubcktCall), then this could happen.

Best solution is probably just to get the hotfix containing the fix.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
