Unable to open schematic files in virtuoso

Hi,

I was trying to copy some schematic files from  user A account to other user B (me) account in the same group, during the process cds.lib of user A was somehow changed and it is eventually fixed but the problem after that is we are unable to open schematic files in user A as it shows no size and no symbol etc. Attached is the screenshot of library manager for reference.

Is there something problem withe technology file association?

Please help me fix this.

Thankyou.

How did you try to copy the data? Was it through Virtuoso copy functionality or a direct copy in the shell? Did they show up for User B?

Look in the library/cell/view directory to see if there are any files with the .oa prefix. These are the actual data files. Let us know what you find.

I directly copied through linux platform by changing permissions for file access and not using virtuoso. Yes, user B got it. The .oa files are missing, you have any idea where they could be lost? and user B also don't have them. Thank you for the reply Theopane.

Can you do an "ls -al /path/to/suresh thesis/NOTGATE3/schematic" and same for symbol? If the files aren't there for user B, it's hard to see how he can open the cellView. The files would have a .oa suffix (not prefix) eg sch.oa as well as master.tag.  If you've lost the files, that was presumably because of incorrect UNIX commands and you'll either need to find them yourself somehow or restore from backup.

Yes Andrew I checked every folder, all the folders are empty, no data files are there. Probably as you said we will ask the administrator to recover for us from the backup. Thank you. I will get back to you if we couldn't fix it.

Hopefully the data was backed up because there really is nothing anyone on the forum can do to help if you've deleted it! Sorry...
