How to open a new library/cell (add library into cds.lib) when already has been open a layout ?

Dear All,

In IC 6.1.6 ISR11/ISR12 , when already has been open a layout , need to add a new library/cell to reference , so i add library into cds.lib ,

though library manager can show the library/cell , but when open it , it will pop "Library Update" dialog ,

close it , and nothing to do.

If need to close data and then open library/cell (it silimar to launch virtuoso again) , it is very not convient , especially for large layout .

Is there a right way to do ?

Charley,

Do you just need to call ddUpdateLibList() ? There should be no need to close data.

Andrew,

It seems needs to be close data or launch again.

From AE , he said that "if one lib is marked for deletion and a cellview of this lib is opened in memory."

That should only be necessary if you're deleting a library from the cds.lib, not adding a new entry. Maybe you omitted some relevant information from your question?

Even then, you only need to close data from that library, not everything...

I post the question from layout engineer's request. Maybe i lost some information.

Layout engineer usually include other cds.lib in his cds.lib , so the library maybe changed but he does not know ,

Maybe that's why .
