SFDR in Cadence

Dear All,

I use the dft tool in cadence to test my wave, but I want to get the SFDR for 2GHZ wave, when i use the DFT tool in cadence, if I make the number of sample is 32768, then I can get the wave form for SFDR which I can see the 2GHZ(my in put frequency is 2Ghz), but when if I just pick 1024 samples, the SFDR stoped in 250Mhz.

Thanks a lot,

Kind Regards.

Not sure if you intended to have pictures in that post, but there weren't any - you have to attach them.

Anyway, the frequency interval in a DFT is 1/interval where interval is the time interval you did the DFT over. You'll then end up with a maximum frequency of nSamples/2*fund where fund is the 1/interval. Not sure what your time interval was, but I suspect this is the problem.

You could also use the spectrum assistant in ViVA (in the Measurements menu) to get SFDR and will give you more assistance as to how to fill in the parameters correctly.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
