Label inside a clone

If I place a label inside a clone, it is not showing on the other members of the clone family. It doesn't matter if the label is attached or not.

Is this a bug, or is there a good reason for?

There's a good reason for this. The original reason was that often labels are used to label nets or pins (even if they're not attached - they could just be over the shape), and the synchronous clones may well represent different nets for the same shape within each of the clones. Without knowing what the text is for (it could be for labelling nets, it could just be comments on the layout) we just assume that the labels aren't synchronised.

In IC616 ISR5 or 6 (something like that) we changed it so that text is added into the clones at creation time, but we still don't keep the labels synchronised. Part of the reason for not changing that is the above explanation, but another is that for existing clones they may suddenly be seen as desynchronised if we were to change this.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    That explains it, thanks.

Is there a way to remove all labels/texts from all clone groups at once? The unwanted text was added to the original group and synchronous copied >100 times.

Not without writing SKILL code to do it, I think. I'm not aware of any existing SKILL code to do that though (it wouldn't be hard - just find the labels in the figGroups and then use dbDeleteObject on them).

    Regards,

    Andrew.
