Parametric Analysis over EM Simulated S-parameter Data

I saw this from an old post

What I need is the same as in this post. I also want to sweep the s-parameter files used for the nport in ADEXL sim. The option that Frank mentioned in that post seems to be a good workaround, but that "Additional parameter list" is not available anymore with newer versions of candence (ic616). I wonder if there is another workaround?

  • It seems that I found a workaround.

    I used pPar("filename") in the s-parameter file field to pass the filename as a variable. Then I can give the s-parameter file name as the value of the variable in ADE(I included the folder path in the "simulation files" menu), and the simulation runs. I did same thing in ADEXL, but I had to put the file name inside a quotation mark, otherwise ADEXL does not recognize the file name as parameter. With a inclusion list of the different file names, I could sweep the s-parameter in one simulation, or define them as separate corners.

  • I just checked this in IC616 ISR14 and the "Additional parameter list" is still available there. You have to select "Rarely used parameters" in order to see it (as already mentioned in the old post).

  • Thanks Frank for replying. I don't have ic616isr14 available for me right now. Actually I am still using older versions (maybe this is the reason?) 

    I tried IC616isr1 and ic616isr9. When I select "Rarely used parameters", I only see three options, as shown below, and I don't have the "Additioanl parameter list" option. This is what I meant. should I just put it in one of these lines?

  • That's the reason. I see the options with nport. I thought they are the same, which are apparently not exactly. Thanks! Now it's clear :)
