The large value of a parameter of a transistor leading to non-converge

Hi,

    I met a  really strange problem during my simulation. When I change the width of a transistor, another parameter becomes too large, i.e., we have 'as'=1.06p when 'w' = 4u; then the value of 'as' is supposed to be 530f when 'w' is set to 2u ,however 'as' became 530e155 unbelievably!!!! It happens that 'as' is reasonable only when 'w' are some certain value—4u,6u,8u,10u,12u!!!  The tremendous 'as'  value leads to a non-converged simulation process.

   How can I deal with this? I use ic 615 and MMSIM 10.0.

    This is because you are using RHEL6 (or similar) and a version prior to IC615 ISR12. RHEL6 was not supported until then.

    The problem only occurred when running 64 bit virtuoso, and is described in my COS article here. It was due to a fairly major incompatibility in low level C libraries which was different in 64 bit RHEL6 than any other UNIX release forever before that...

    The solution is either to use a newer subversion, or you can just run virtuoso in 32-bit mode (virtuoso -32 would force it, or not setting $CDS_AUTO_64BIT).
