Virtuoso IC616 problem with file locks

Hi all,

we are having a problem with our new IC616 installation on RHEL 6.7. Whenever someone tries to save a schematic or layout from within the Virtuoso environment the error

"Could not save cellView [name] schematic
(DB-270000): dbSave: Unable to lock database file for [cellView]/schematic"

appears. We have tracked the issue so far that we know there is a problem with the creation of *.cdslck files. For a schematic, for example, in the subfolder cds/[library]/[cellView]/schematic the files sch.oa, sch.oa.cdslck, and sch.oa.cdslck.[machineName] get created, but all rwx permissions get withdrawn from the *.cdslck files, see the example below:

-rw-rw-r--. 1 yan stud 35 Jun 28 08:03 master.tag
-rw-rw-r--. 1 yan stud   0 Jun 28 08:03 sch.oa
----------. 2 yan stud 700 Jun 28 08:03 sch.oa.cdslck
----------. 2 yan stud 700 Jun 28 08:03 sch.oa.cdslck.RHEL30.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If we do a chmod on the lock files by hand after their creation, we are able to save the cellView in Virtuoso, but obviously this is not a satisfying solution.

Has anyone ever encountered a similar issue? We are currently at a loss where to look further and get additional information about this problem

Regards,
Yannick

Have you already taken a look at the umask settings in your environment?
