Basic Libraries Not Showing up

Dear Community,

I just started trying out Cadence Virtuoso. I am having trouble including basic libraries like AnalogLib - please see screenshot below:

How would I go about adding the libraries?

Thanks.

Add these lines into your cds.lib :

    DEFINE analogLib $(inst_root_with:tools/dfII/bin/virtuoso)/tools/dfII/etc/cdslib/artist/analogLib
    DEFINE basic $(inst_root_with:tools/dfII/bin/virtuoso)/tools/dfII/etc/cdslib/basic

    or add:

    INCLUDE $(inst_root_with:tools/dfII/bin/virtuoso)/share/cdssetup/cds.lib

which includes a reasonable set of default libraries.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Andrew,

This worked! Thanks so much. I must have missed this in the documentation somewhere - would you happen to remember which section I might find this in, out of curiosity? I am poring over "Library Manager -> Help -> Contents" now, but if you happen to recall the appropriate chapter, please let me know.

    David,

I'm not sure this is exactly covered in the documentation. It certainly wouldn't be under the library manager (I would have thought) because it's just a specific example.

If you start in a fresh directory (no cds.lib) and create a library in Virtuoso, it will create a local cds.lib with:

    SOFTINCLUDE /export/home/apps/IC617_isr/share/cdssetup/cds.lib
    DEFINE mylib /export/home/myusername/support/testit/mylib

The first path is essentially what I suggested you include, but I added the $(inst_root_with...) syntax to make it relocatable. If you search in cdnshelp for inst_root_with you'll find info on that syntax in the Cadence Application Infrastructure Guide.

    Regards,

    Andrew

Andrew, I found the Cadence Application Infrastructure User Guide you mentioned - I will look into it. Thanks again.
