Component creation from IBIS model

Hello,

I want to create component for simulation for IBIS model. I have followed guide "Using Spectre to Simulate IBIS Models", but Im confused about some things. I especialy dont understand where and how do I connect my .scs file to the symbol.

1) I created .scs file by using ibis2subckt from .ibs file, is that correct? I dont have .ebd file as is written in guide, is it a problem? Where do I put the .scs file to use it corectly?

2) Ive created symbol and started editing component CDF, only component name and termOrder is supposed to be filled in? I dont understand how the cadence knows which file to use for simulation, how is the .scs file linked to the symbol?

Not sure which document that is, but this application note covers it all pretty clearly. You don't have to have an EBD file, and it tells you when you can just use the analogLib component or when you need to create a subckt, symbol and then reference the subckt file via Setup->Model Libraries in ADE (that's how it knows to "link" the .scs to the symbol - it's not really as fancy as linking - the CDF tells it how to netlist the component, and the model libraries is just a way of specifying files to be included in the simulator; this way you have both the reference and the definition of the subckt).

    Regards,

    Andrew

    Thanks for the reply,
that application note was the one I was reading but the information I was looking for wasnt where I thought it would be. I thought I would connect the cellview with the .scs permanently not through model libraries.
