mixed-mode S-parameter file

Dear Cadence team,

We have differential 4 ports S-parameter file in Touchstone format with Sdd11, Sdc11 Scd11, Scc11 and so on parameters.

Can we simulate this file in spectre, using nport component?

Or we need trnasform it into normal 4port format  befor?

Best regards,

Alex

    Hi Alex,
Yes, you can simulate mixed mode s-parameters in Spectre and plot them in the Analog Design Environment via the Direct Plot form. There is an article on plotting mixed-mode s-parameters at support.cadence.com/.../cos;solutionNumber=20145001

We don't have much documentation on simulating mixed-mode s-parameters (it's on my seemingly infinite "to do" list). Spectre help (spectre -h sp), describes simulating mixed-mode s-parameters.

The nport supports s-paramters in Touchstone 2.0 format (which includes mixed-mode). There was a recent issue (CCR1560269) with mixed-mode s-parameters. It was fixed in MMSIM 15.1 ISR9, so make sure that you are using the most recent ISR.

    best regards,
    Tawna

    Hi Alex,

One more thing... If there is functionality that you desire (regarding mixed-mode s-parameters), please contact Customer Support (http://support.cadence.com) and file a Case. An Enhancement CCR can be filed on your behalf.

    best regards,
    Tawna
