Calibre LVS with simulated sonnet component

Hi all,

I am trying to run an LVS with Calibre on a schematic which contains a simulated Sonnet component but it fails to run and drops the message "Calibre lvs schematic export failed or was cancelled". In the CIW window the message

ERROR (OSSHNL-116): Unable to descend into any of the views defined in the view list, 'auCdl schematic', for theinstance 'I16' in cell 'DBIMGRXAB_v2'

appears.  As I guess, this is caused due to a missing view of my component, which only includes the "symbol-sonnet" and the "layout" view. If I add the "symbol-sonnet" view to the View List under Calibre->Setup->Netlist Export menu, LVS runs but my component is not netlisted

WARNING (OSSHNL-117): Ignoring switch view 'symbol-sonnet' of cell 'Wilkinson_140G_BCS_Wavy_V3' in library 'PASSIVE_ELEMENTS', as it does not contain any instance. To netlist this cell, add this switch view to the stop list or to ignore any specific instance set the property 'nlAction' to value "ignore" on this cell view.

After LVS finish its run, some warnings/error messages appear:

Warning: #1 in DBIMGRXAB_v2

WARNING:  Short circuit - Different names on one net:
          Net Id:  7
          (1)  name  "O2"  at location  (682.1,1073.05)  on layer  50024 "Metal6_pin"
          (2)  name  "O3"  at location  (682.15,1105.55)  on layer  50024 "Metal6_pin"
The name "O2" was assigned to the net.

Warning: #2 in DBIMGRXAB_v2
WARNING:  Short circuit - Different names on one net:
          Net Id:  8
          (1)  name  "O1"  at location  (682.1,1062.05)  on layer  50024 "Metal6_pin"
          (2)  name  "O4"  at location  (682.3,1116.7)  on layer  50024 "Metal6_pin"
The name "O1" was assigned to the net.

which seems to shortcut the ports in my component and then the LVS fails to identify all the nets. My version of Cadence is 6.1.5 and Calibre 2013.4_15.12.

Would you have some tip how to make the LVS to recognize my component not as a shortcut or a workaround?

Thanks a lot for the comments.

Best regards,

Erick

    Hi Erick

Would you please try the following?

    a. In library manager, would you please copy "symbol-sonnet" view as "auCdl" view
    b. Add the approriate info (e.g. terminal names, subckt name, etc) in "CIW: Tools->CDF->Edit CDF" for the device

    Best regards
