Temperature Evaluation

Hello friends from Cadence,

We have schematic and layout views.
We want to evaluate the temperature propagation in different parts from chip (in layout and/or schematic level).
Could you inform us the aplications used to create temperature maps and their doc-manual names?

Thanks,
Rafael

    Rafael,

We don't really have anything to do this currently. There are some tools from the PCB side (Sigrity) which do this, and there are some hooks in the digital implementation world for doing something like this (as part of Voltus, I think). However, other than the self-heating analysis capabilities for some small-geometry technologies that are available in RelXpert and Voltus-Fi (these are much more localised and don't involve thermal maps), there isn't anything in the Cadence IC tools at the moment for doing thermal analysis.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
