Create VIA form disappears

Hello,

I have been using layout XL and when I create vias in auto mode, the Create VIA form disappears and I cannot seem to get it back unless I restart virtuoso. Can someone please help me on how to keep the create VIA form?

Thanks

Rather than being related to dual monitors, my guess is that this is due to a change made in recent subversions to avoid screen clutter. When you go into "auto" via mode, the options form remains hidden on subsequent times that you use the create via command (the assumption is that you're still in auto via mode and don't need to interact with the form). As with other enter functions, hit the F3 key to bring up (or hide) the options form again.

If you have the "Options Displayed when commands start" checkbox checked in the Options->User Preference form, then it appears all the time, but that normally is only set by new users because every command with an options form then displays the form at startup, even for the commands that wouldn't otherwise display it by default.

So F3 is your friend here, I think.

Of course, it would have been useful if you'd mentioned the subversion of the IC tools that you're using - if you'd been using some fairly old version, you could probably forget the advice above and I wouldn't have given it in the first place...

    Regards,

    Andrew.
