.lib files generation for custom analog design

Hello,

I wish to generate .lib files from a cadence library analog cell, Is there a direct way to generate that from ADE GXL testbench ?

I read in this forum about DCM but couldn't find it in GXL ?

Thank you,

DCM has been de-emphasised and is not in the menus any more (it used to be launched from the CIW Tools menu, but that was removed in IC616).

The right way to generate .LIB files for a mixed signal block is to use Liberate AMS. You should contact your account team or customer support for more details.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Thanks Andrew,

Can normal Liberate tool be used for analog ?
Is the the AMS version more suitable from functionality perspective or from accuracy perspective ?
Is the AMS version understand the testbench of analog blocks to create the stimuli for .lib generation, without the need of writing a tcl file?

Generating a timing model for "analog" doesn't exactly make much sense, so the point here is to have something where you can identify the timing arcs and then have it pull out the relevant paths to simulate and characterise. Really you need the Liberate AMS version for this for functionality reasons. I doubt you'd really be able to use the standard Liberate tool to characterise a mixed-signal block.

For more details, you should speak to your account team, as I mentioned before. Then we could do a better analysis of whether the tool is a good fit for your specific needs, rather than me trying to guess that blindly in an open forum...

    Andrew.
