Hi,

I would like to launch my simulation on a Remote machine.. I would like to know the procedure and the settings required to launch simulation on remote host in ADE-L and ADE-XL.

Thankyou.

This is one of those questions that can soon get complicated, depending on what you want to do and how things are set up, security wise. Generally it’s done via Setup->Simulator/Dir/Host in ADE L, or Setup->Job Options in ADE XL. Both have an option of “Remote” - but then you get into the question of whether you can connect via “rsh” or “ssh”.

This is covered in the documentation, but to be honest your best option is to contact customer support. By “remote” you might have access to some queuing system (e.g. LSF, SGE etc) - so that might be an option too.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

Is it also possible to use the pbs cluster as a remote simulation machine?

    Best regards,

    Rizwan

    Rizwan,

Provided there is a command-line command to submit a job you can use that to submit jobs from the ADE interfaces. You'd use "distributed" mode in ADE L, or "Command" in the ADE XL/Explorer/Assembler job setup, and then provide the command needed to distribute the job.

I have no familiarity with PBS (other than a quick google search) so you'll need to find the command to submit the job yourself.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
