Copying A Maestro View and underlying schematics to a new library

Hi,

Can anyone help me find a solution to this please?

- I am using ADE Assembler and the Maestro database format.

- I have a Cell which has its own Maestro View, it resides in Library A.

- Inside the Maestro View there are a number of different tests, each referencing a different Testbench schematic containing different DUT's.

- All of the DUT schematics and Testbenches called by the Maestro view exist inside Library A. Anything else from outside of Library A can just be referenced and not copied (e.g. logic cells).

- I want to copy my Cell from its current location into a new library.

- I want the copy to automatically pick up all the TB's and schematics used inside the maestro view from Library A and copy them to Library B, and have the Maestro View update pointers to Library B for these TB's and schematics accordingly.

I have tried:

- Using the right click copy options on the cell

- Copy Wizard

Both of the above on ADEXL views (ADEXL views DO copy as expected using above methods)

Thanks!

Craig

    Craig,

Assuming that you remembered to check the "Update instances" checkbox on the copy, the references should be fixed when copying a cell with maestro views (it will only fix the references if both the maestro view and the things it references are copied at the same time, but that's the same as with adexl views too).

I tested this in IC617 ISR15; what subversion are you using? I have a niggling recollection that this was broken at some point, but I can't find any reference to that (maybe using the wrong search terms in my digging around).

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for your response.

Yes I had update instances checked, the process I used did work when pulling the schematics from a cell with an ADEXL view, which gave me at least some confidence I had the copy process correct.

    I am using IC6.1.7-64b.500.11

Library manager IC6.1.7 - CAT35 (is this what you meant by subversion?)

    Regards,

    Craig

    Hi Craig,

I made a very quick test in that subversion and it worked for me. So I would suggest that this must have some data dependency - so first check that it's not fixed by using the latest IC617 hotfix (ISR15), and if not, contact customer support so that we can take a look at your data.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

If you don't see the issue this is good news, it may point to an issue with the tool environment here not coping with the new Maestro views.

I will ask a local DA if there is any other Jiggery Pokery messing with Virtuoso / Subversion.

    Regards,

    Craig
