[HELP] How to automatically place pins over a sub block on IC6.1.6 without using skill script?

Hi Cadence Forum

I am working on a chip layout and I want to place the pins of the current hierarchy layout so that it will be over the pins of a sub block.
Please see image below for clarity.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Assuming you're using Virtuoso Layout Suite XL, this can be done with Place->Pin Placement. Select the pins you want to move over the top of the underlying instance, and then on the Edge cyclic in the Attributes section below, pick "Level-1 pin". It will then move the pins to be over the pin on one of the instances to which the pin is connected.

    See the form below:

You can also change the layer of the pin there too.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
