Display problem when I zoom in multiple waveforms

christon
christon over 7 years ago

I have some waveforms to be plotted. Before zoom in it, the waveforms look good:

Before zoom in

However, when I zoom in it, we can see that the waveforms are totally wrong because they should be straight with reasonable delays:

Zoom In

The correct waveforms can be displayed when I select them:

As we can see from the above figure, both correct and wrong waveforms are plotted together. This troubles me for a long time because usually I need to zoom in waveforms and see the relationship of some waveforms. The existing of wrong waveforms always disturb my judgement.

Thank you.

Which IC subversion are you using? Typing getVersion(t) in the CIW, or using Help->About in any of the windows will tell  you.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

    "sub-version IC6.1.7-64b.500.6 "

I use ADE L to simulate the circuit and plot the waveforms.

    Christon,

    Try using:

    envSetVal("viva.graph" "enableLV" 'string "false")

(You may need to do this in a fresh Virtuoso session before opening VIVA). If this fixes it, please first try if it's resolved in a later subversion (the latest is IC617 ISR17 - although I think most of the drawing engine fixes with the new drawing engine happened some time back), and if not, you should contact customer support. We need to ensure that if there are any remaining bugs in the new drawing engine, they are resolved (as the old drawing engine will eventually go away).

If this env var doesn't fix it, you still need to contact customer support!

    Regards,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

Yes, this command fixes the problem.

However, if I open Virtuoso without keying this command, the problem still exists. I tried our latest version 6.17.706 and the problem is the same.

So should I type the command after I open the Virtuoso in order to solve this problem?

    Thank you.

    Best,

    Christon

6.17.706 is the same version you mentioned earlier - it's just the release management numbering scheme - but this corresponds to 6.1.7.500.6 (ISR6) which is relatively old.

Setting that environment variable will only help in that session - you have to set it each time. I wouldn't suggest setting it in a .cdsinit because you might end up using it for longer than you should - the right thing to do would be to get a newer IC subversion installed (ISR6 is quite old now...)

    Andrew.
