RC Extraction Problem with GPDK045

Hi All,

I am working with Cadence provided GPDK045 technology. Our course admin has installed the latest version of it (Aug 2017). Still the PDK has bugs and cannot run very basic functionality like RCX extraction.

Some user also faced exactly the same error 2 years ago. The solution recommended then was to download the latest gpdk045 kit. I am not sure if it fixed the error for that user, but definitely this error still persist in the PDK available as of Aug 2017.

Kindly advice what can I do. It is bit urgent to resolve this issue.

Well, this is not a matter of bugs in the PDK. It's because you're using unsupported tools.

You're using Assura RCX which was end of lifed at least 10 years ago (it was so long ago, I can hardly remember) and replaced with QRC  (now Quantus QRC). This comes from the "EXT" release stream (the latest version is EXT181).

So gpdk045 is designed to work with Quantus QRC (which is effectively a newer generation of Assura RCX - the technology is similar, but things have moved on in the meantime).

You also appear to be using IC615 (well, you're using ASSURA41-615, so I assume IC615 is being used with that - if not, you should use consistent versions). That's no longer supported either (nor is IC616; the current version is IC617).

I reproduced the error in the versions you're using, but it's hardly surprising that a PDK from last year requires more recent software (you can see that even the build date for capgen, which is maintained in the Assura stream for legacy reasons, is over 7 years old).

    Regards,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

I did manage to fix the issue. You are right, it was version conflict.

Regarding IC617, I am not sure if we have access to it. But will check with our admin. If we have access then will migrate to it.

    Thanks,

    Regards,

    Nandish
