ADE XL netlisting error (some schematic components are blank)

I have a simulation that isn't working with ADE XL - whenever it netlists parts of the netlist have no connections.  I am using standard cells with predefined connections in them and have some schematic parts that are made with symbols for the objects (standard cells) but the netlists created with those parts are empty.  Some parts only have the instance names, no connections, and other parts are fully defined.  Are there any options I should be looking into?

Thanks

First thing to check is whether you have Analog netlisting mode enabled. Type:

    cdfGetNetlistMode()

in the CIW - it should return "Analog". If not, before you start virtuoso enter:

    setenv CDS_Netlisting_Mode Analog

    or

    export CDS_Netlisting_Mode=Analog

depending on whether you're using csh (for the first) or bash/sh/ksh (for the second). You may need to do Netlist->Recreate after restarting virtuoso.

It may not be that - I'd check the job log for ADE XL to see if there are any messages given.

Might be easier to go to customer support so that somebody can look at it with you?

    Regards,

    Andrew

Thanks; yeah think I'll go through the support channel so I can send things over.  That being said - when I run the command cdsGetNetlistMode (assuming it was CDS given the environmental variable and assuming cdl's a typo since it's undefined) it does come back as analog.  The weird thing is that this is a duplicate design with a minor tweak to another design that I can successfully simulate so I'm thinking it is something weirder.

    Thanks

    Chris

Whoops! Sorry about the typo - yes, it should be cdsGetNetlistMode().

That was clutching at straws a little. Might also try deleting the simulation/lib/cell/view/results/data/.tmpADEDir_user directory in case it has got messed up somehow (lib cell and view are the cellView for the ADE XL view, and user is your username). Not sure this will help - but worth a try. I don't know what version you're using.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
