ade-xl with two schematics/simulations (same nets names), how to know which schematic the VT("X") refer to

Does this mentioned in ade-xl documentation or somewhere? I appreciate if someone can tell me.

I have two schematics in the same ADE-XL and have their own tests. But their nets name are all same. When I try to use calculator to plot a waveform in one schematic, it only shows VT("X"), how can I know which schematic it refer to.

Also, when I have one test in ADE-XL, I always use the Results tabs to compare with my previous simulation, sometime I am also confused which results are fetched for calculator expression, since I cannot tell the results are for current simulation or previous simulation.

    Hi Gaofeng,

It depends on where you've launched the calculator from. Normally you'd launch it by using the Right Mouse->Open Calculator menu. If you do this from a specific output value (e.g. one of the corner columns, and one of the output rows), it will be looking at the results from that specific simulation point for that history. If you do it from one of the output names (e.g. over the Test, Output. Spec column etc, but not over one of the specific result points) then it will be looking at all the results for that test/history combination. If you launch it from the Tools->Calculator menu, it's a bit less obvious.

However, in all cases there's a bar at the top of the calculator labelled "In Context Results DB" which tells you precisely where it's reading the results from in that instance of the calculator. So it's completely unambiguous.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Thanks, Andrew.

I think I find what you refer to, there is a pull down list in calculator, which indicates which test the expressions belong to. I also find that by selecting different database in "result brower" (right click on results tab), I can accurately locate previous test results under the same schematic though the calculator in this case didn't indicate which previous test it was, for example, "interactive.69".

This should be in the Results Bar (you can enable this from the calculator View menu if it's not displayed):

You asked earlier about recent posts (that seems to have vanished from your post, so I assume you edited it). You can click on your name and then look at Activity to see your posting activity. Also, you can click on the forum name at the top and see the most recent posts in that forum.

    Andrew.
