Sorting ADE-Xl Results tab rows across >1 columns

Dear Cadence experts:

If there a way to sort ADE-XL Results tab data (rows) across multiple columns? Currently, when I click on a column title (e.g. Test or Output), only data for that column are sorted. How can I select for example two columns (say both Test and Output) and sort data (rows) across the two columns? This feature is readily available for example in Excel.

I am using virtuoso version IC6.1.7-64b.500.14

If this is not possible, is there a way to somehow group or organize the Results (or Output Setup) expressions? Because without any sorting or grouping, things go very hard to manage when you have say 50 to 100 expressions.

    Hi,

we don't try to build our own Excel, but we implemented an Excel export. You can directly create an Excel file from the results.

I understand the need for ordering, what you could  do is adding a custom column to the Output Setup  ( right click the table header ) call it  "Sort" or whatever and
add a string or number to each output you want to have sorted and use that column to define the order.

    Kind regards,

    Marc

    Hi Marc,

Thanks a lot for your quick reply. The custom column solution seems to be a way forward.

Of course I didn't expect to have a full spread-sheet functionality but sorting across multiple columns seemed like a basic feature. Currently, it is easy to make a mistake if you have many expressions (say copied for different tests) but rather hard to find them.

For example, if expressions of different tests could be colored differently, it would simplify visually inspecting them.

    Kind regards,
