Installation of EXT151 from hotfix file

Hello,

While I was trying to make extraction with QRC tool, I found out that QRC is not installed in our servers. In EXT151 file there are: "Hotfix_EXT15.11.000-Q2_lnx86.sdp",  "ic_index.sdx" and  "kits" files. I am trying to find a way to install these files. As I found, using installspace is one of the ways. But I couldn't find any suggestion for install the program with hotfix files. In my situation, using hotfix files would be more easy for me. If would you explain or show me a way to do it, it will be so greatfull.

My guess is that you have downloaded the "Complete Media Images" from downloads.cadence.com. You can download installscape from the downloads.cadence.com site and it can then use these downloaded images - you point at the directory containing the images. It will then install whichever of the kits are needed - it may also need kits from the BASE release too.

installscape can be run in batch mode too without the UI, but there is no support to just manually install the kits yourself - if you were to do that, it would not perform some of the essential post-install tasks needed, nor would it keep track of what packages had or hadn't been installed.

Easier still is to just use installscape to pick which releases you wish to install, and then it will download just the kits it needs. Given that for a hotfix release it typically needs all the kits from the hotfix and just a handful from the base release, it avoids having to download quite as much data as if you download complete media images.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
