design kits for a new member in cadence

Dear Sir/Mme,

I purchased cadence tools since two years and the system as cadence is running (2018) with no design kits no technology and they said it is generic, and I did apply for different technology 0.35, 0.18, 0.13, 90nm, 65 nm, based on the instructions that was provided from Wendy.Fannes@imec.be>, Richard Bishop <richard.bishop@stfc.ac.uk> and I received nothing, so what I am supposed to do to gain access to these design kits, as you know without design kits and technology cadence tools will be something like vehicle with no engine.

this is urgent request as the I am paying for the cadence for two years for nothing.

your help and cooperation to guide me to the right direction is appreciated.

Abdullah

    Hi Abdullah,

Are you accessing this as a university through the Europractice scheme? if so, which University? I can contact Europractice on your behalf and ask them to follow up with you.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    dear Andrew,

Yes, I am enrolling as member in Europractice, my institute name is  Yarmouk university my ID# A16080.

if there is a tutorial to start up my work, I do appreciate if you provide with me  it as there are a lot of Docs.

where I have to get these six files to set up my Cadence environment:

    1).cdsint  2).cdsenv 3)cds.lib 4)profile.ic-5 5)Spectre250.scs // Model Library for Spectre 6)MOS_Model.scs// Model Library for Hspice

how the generic design kits affect my work, what limitations are there?

    is PMOS35 still available?

    thanks

    Hi Abdullah,

Your questions are really about the service offered by Europractice, not general questions about the Cadence Virtuoso or Spectre tools. So this is not really a good place to ask such questions. A better place is via http://www.europractice.stfc.ac.uk/welcome.html .

Anyway, I will contact Europractice (I work with them since the software service is based in the UK) and ask them to contact you.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

You really shouldn't need very much - doesn't need much of a tutorial. I suggest (cshrc syntax):

    setenv CDSHOME /path/to/ICrelease
    setenv SPECTREHOME /path/to/SPECTRErelease
    set path = ($CDSHOME/tools/bin $CDSHOME/tools/dfII/bin $SPECTREHOME/bin $path)
    setenv CDS_Netlisting_Mode Analog
    setenv CDS_LIC_FILE 5280@licenseserver

Note that there's no requirement to have $CDSHOME or $SPECTREHOME - these have no special meaning. It's really just about putting the right directories in your path, setting CDS_Netlisting_Mode and CDS_LIC_FILE to point at the license server.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
