ADE-XL Simulation Lost After Cadence Crash

Hello,

After Cadence crash, most of my corner simulations are lost. I have two questions.

1. Is there a way, let's say a system variable change, to prevent simulations' crash when the Cadence crashes. The simulation is a separate spectre process, so my guess is that there should be a way to "unlink" the cadence session from the simulations. That would help me in the future.

2. The second question is related to simulating the crashed corners once more. Some of my corners are finished, and others are incomplete. So my adexl session looks like this after reopening that.

Is there a way to avoid resimulating the whole corner set, but only the missing ones, keeping both results in the same Interactive window? Like right-click->resimulate... That would save me tons of time.

Thank you in advance,

Armen.

    Hi Armen,

     1. In the .cdsinit you can add envSetVal("adexl.distribute" "continueICRPRunOnAbruptGUIExit" 'boolean t) which keeps the in-process ("running") simulations running in the background when ADE GUI exits abruptly.

After the completion of the in-process simulations, you can re-open ADE XL and load the crashed Interactive.x item from History tab(RMB->View Results). The completed simulations should display the results than displaying "running" .

    2. In the History tab select the crashed Interactive.x item and do RMB->Re-run Unfinished/Error Points . This should create a new interactive item called Interactive.x.rerun.0 which keeps the completed points/corners displayed and re-runs the incomplete.

    Regards,

    Dimitra

    hi dimitra:

after simulation crash, the results tab shows "running",  how can i make adexl re-calculate results without re-run simulation?  because simulation is so long and some results can be calculated correctly without finish simulation.

    thanks a lot.

Whilst we have a SKILL solution for helping to solve such issues, it's not something we can post in a public forum. Please contact customer support so that we can better understand what went wrong, can check whether some of our new technology development will solve the underlying issue, and hopefully provide you with some code to workaround the problem when it occurs (hopefully a rare situation).

    Thanks,

    Andrew.
