Pass object properties from one object to another

I have a lot of differential pairs and cascode (mos) devices in my schematic.

Those pair of devices (should) always have the same parameters. It bothers me that when I want to change one parameter that I have to do that at two different places.

It is of course possible to make the parameters a design variable, but than I have to create all the design variables and I have to search for the correct one in a list, instead of a graphical approach in the schematic.

Creating a cell with just one device to get this behavior also seems sub optimal.

How can I pass or read the parameters from one device and have it entered in another device?

I don't mind to keep in mind that I always need to change for instance the left device, instead of having it possible to change either one of them and than the other one gets updated.

    Hello Emiel,

You can use the “Variable and Parameters” assistant. You need to use ADE-XL, Assembler or Explorer. The assistant is not available with ADE-L.
What you need to do is:
    1. Open the schematic from ADE: RMB on the test-> Open Design in Tab
    2. On the schematic tab, select Window ->Assistants ->Variables and Parameters
    3. The assistant opens, go to the Parameters tab. It is empty for now.
    4. Select the devices whose parameters you want to match. The selected devices and their parameters are displayed in Parameters tab in assistant.
    5. Do RMB->View by Object  to view the parameters by objects and not property.
    6. Expand the device you want as the “master device”. Select all its parameters or the parameters you wish to match using <Shift> or <Ctrl>
    7. Click on the “Match Parameters” icon
    8. The slave instance(s) parameters will now track the master instance as shown at the bottom of the assistant.
    9. Go to ADE and notice that in the Parameters in Data View/Setup assistant the parameters are displayed there too. You can control the master parameters from there and the slaves parameters will follow the master parameters during simulation.
    Regards,
    Dimitra
