Multiple GND PAD/Pins connected to the same GND Plane

Hi All,

I am currently working on a layout with 10 GND pads and each pad has it's own Pin GND01-10.  These Pads and Pins are connected to a common VSS ground plane.  Currently the only way I can complete this without Shorts, is by placing a 10 metal-res between the GND01-10 and VSS.  This is obviously not ideal, as it limits your ability to add a robust PAD connection. We are using Calibre for verification!  

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to complete this task without metal-res?  I'm open to creating a new PAD Pcell and I'm open to any other suggestions.

    Patrick,

    This is how I would expect to do it. If the metal resistor is the same width as the metal track you had anyway, it is exactly the same - all the metal resistor does is have a marker layer to indicate that the metal shape is intended to be treated as a resistor, but physically it's connected just as it would have done - it then means that both the schematic and the  layout have two separated nets.

    So I don't see why it makes the connection less robust - electrically it's identical (unless I've missed something in your description). I've used this kind of approach forever - it's not new.
