key board shortcuts using "Alt" key are not working in virtuoso

Hi,

When I open layout editor I used to access the options on top by using "Alt" key and the underlined key.

Ex : If I want to make one layout Read only then i have to press "Alt"+F (which is File) and R (which is readonly)

But I am not able to do it now. The Underlined letters are also not coming.

Where can I enable this ?

Please help me

Thanks,

Ganesh Doddipatla.

    Hi Ganesh,

Check if you have in your ~/.cdsenv file the entry:

    ui      enableMenuShortcuts     boolean nil

It might be in another .cdsenv file somewhere else - perhaps check using:

    cdswhich -all .cdsenv

(it might not be being found via the "CSF" mechanism, but these are likely candidates for locations). This env var can only be set in the .cdsenv file, not using the envSetVal() SKILL function in your .cdsinit. The Cadence default is t for this variable - setting it to nil turns off the shortcuts, primarily to enable you to use Alt as a modifier for custom bindkeys.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
