VIVA Plotting questions (legends and waveform selection)

I recently discovered that I could relocate the legend in a VIVA plot to "inside" which was joyful for me because when it was on the left the hard copy version of the legend always took up a ridiculous amount of space and made the waveform part of the hard copy too compressed. However, when I do relocate the legend to "inside" it seems I lose the ability to click on a legend item and highlight the corresponding waveform. Is that a bug/feature, or am I doing something wrong?

Assume for now my legends are all on the left. I plot a number sinusoid waveform nodes within my circuit into strip 1 and the FFTs of them into strip 2. If I select one of the sinusoids by clicking on the legend item the corresponding waveform highlights and becomes bold/thicker so I can easily see it. However, if I select one of the FFTs by clicking on the legend the corresponding waveform does come to the front, but it is NOT thick/bold so I can easily see all of it's details. Am I doing something wrong?

For the inside legend, there is no plan to allow the inside legend entries to be selected. There's a few old CCRs on this (CCR 970210 is the master). Another legend type above was added later, and that does allow selection. I tend to use above when I have a small number of signals, or left if I have lots of signals (or signals which are families with lots of members and I want to see the columns indicating the sweep values or marker values).

Strangely I'd not noticed that any curve which is plotted with type spectral or bar doesn't go bold when you select it. It does dim the other signals, so it does stand out a little, just not as much as if it had thickened or emboldened the trace. I couldn't find any reports of this (maybe I just didn't search thoroughly enough), so I filed CCR 2019514 because I'm curious as to why this is too.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

As always, thanks Andrew! I'm a little annoyed about no plans to allow signal selection via "inside" legends given that (like the left/top legends) it's simply just recognizing a click on a specific region and performing an action. Whatever, it's still a win for me because of the much better hard copies produced.

On the thick spectral/bar lines, from having talked with R&D through my CCR, this was just an oversight and the pen thickness is not being set in those cases. This should be straightforward to fix - I don't have a planned date yet, but I believe we will fix it.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
