Test the functionality of digital circuit

MahmoudDeghadi

Hi all,

In my digital circuit, there are inputs port and outputs ports and I wonder if I can test the functionality of this circuit.

In the other wards, I want to put some inputs in a file in the binary form and get the output in the same form by defining the VOH and VOL ,or at least any corresponding method.

thanks alot.

You can do this with spectre on the Setup->Simulation Files form - go to the "Vector Files" tab - and you can give the path to a vector file in the section at the top.

For details on the format of this file, go to a Help menu in Virtuoso and in the type-in field at the top of the menu type "Vector Files". The first couple of hits will (probably) be for "Digital Vector File Format" - one for UltraSim and one for Spectre/APS (the format is the same for both simulators) - this gives the details on how to specify the format (which includes the high and low voltages, rise/fall times, and also the vectors themselves (e.g. in binary).

This is of course assuming you're talking about simulating it in a circuit simulator such as spectre - I'm only guessing that based on your previous post (it's always a good idea to be a bit more explicit than the above - please read the Forum Guidelines (pinned post at the top of each forum) for guidance on how to ask a good question).

    Regards,

    Andrew.
