Cannot netlist config view of my testbench

I am trying to simulate the config view of a testbench but it is failing at the netlisting step. I am getting the following error in my CIW

"ERROR (OSSHNL-512): Failed to generate netlist because incremental netlisting data from the previous session is corrupt or missing. Clean the run directory and netlist the entire design.\n"

The top cell view of my config view is the schematic version of the testbench.

I have no issues when I click I run netlist and run by choosing the design to be the schematic view in ADE Explorer.

Where is the run directory located?

Please could you provide some more information?

    1. Which version of the tools are you using? (the sub-version in Help->About to be specific)
    2. Which netlister (i.e. which simulator) are you using?
    3. What do envGetVal("adexl.simulation" "singleNetlistForAllPoints") and envGetVal("adexl.simulation" "ignoreDesignChangesDuringRun") return when you type them in the CIW?

    Regards,

    Andrew

    1. The version is IC6.1.8-64b.83. Also using Spectre 18.1 if it helps. Sorry for not including the version numbers in the OP.

    2. I am using Spectre as the simulator

    3 I get nil for envGetVal("adexl.simulation" "singleNetlistForAllPoints")

I also get nil for envGetVal("adexl.simulation" "ignoreDesignChangesDuringRun")

When I ran the config view of the testbench in ADE-L there was no issue with netlisting. It is only with ADE explorer that netlisting seems to fail.

Not sure what it is then. I can't think of a good reason from what you've described (there was/is an issue with singleNetlistForAllPoints - that's only supported properly by using ignoreDesignChangesDuringRun, or at least it was at one point).

So please can you contact customer support so that we can look at the specifics of your case to understand why it's happening?

    Thanks,

    Andrew.

Thanks for the quick reply, Andrew. Should I contact support through the support.cadence.com portal and create a case there? Or should I have my university's tech liaison do it? I have never contacted Cadence support and opened up a case before.

edit: On the home page of the support site, I am not able to create a case. Clicking on the case link, just brings up "View Requests". Apparently I don't have case creation privileges. I will request our tech liaison to submit a case with Cadence.

This also depends on how you get your software. If you are part of the EuroPractice scheme, you can log a ticket with them and then they will contact us if they can't handle it themselves. For other universities, you typically have a nominated contact person who can log support requests directly with Cadence.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
