How to access data in info databases in PSF directory?

Hi Andrew!

I was checking for information regarding instance parameters for my study purpose. In the psf file, there are many files with extension ".info". These .info files are binary. Is there any way to open those files?

Since you'd posted on a 6-year old thread where the subject was about "HSPICE" and you're talking about spectre (I assume), I split this into a separate thread (see Guidelines for the Custom IC Design Forum where you are asked not to post on old threads - in this case it would have been rather confusing for somebody searching for existing posts to see if their question was answered already).

You can use the results browser to read these in ViVA, or use OCEAN functions to read them. However, it might just be simpler to add another info analysis in ADE which writes to an ASCII file instead of a binary file?

You didn't say which version you're using (again, see the guidelines as they ask you to provide this information), but in current IC versions the Outputs->Save All form has a section:

In this you can add another row where the "what" is "inst" and the "where" is "file" (you can give it the file name to write to as well if you wish). The file will get written into the netlist directory if it's a local file name (i.e. not a full path).

    Hope that helps.

    Regards,

    Andrew
