Monte Carlo simulation errors

Dear guys,

I would like to ask a question about MC simulation. We use the same technology file for MC simulation in two servers. The server with Cadence 6.1.5 works well while the server with 6.1.6 and 6.1.7 does not. All the necessary parameters settings are done according to the technology manual. And in the version 6.1.6 and 6.1.7, the MC works well with the user defined models. Is it possible that the settings of the Cadence is not complete? The errors are as follows:

Has anyone encountered this problem? Thanks in advance for your help~

This is rather confusing since you say that IC616/IC617 does not work and then you say it does work. I would suggest you contact customer support so that we can look at your setup - it's rather hard to guess what might be wrong (if anything) from  your description, unfortunately.

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew

    Dear Andrew,

Thanks for your reply. It does not work for the given design kit, but works for the MC model created by ourself. There come more details today. When I open the file "spectre.out", it appears as follows:

Do you know where we can find the so-called "ignorezerovar=yes"? Thanks in advance

I would question the validity of the models if they have a zero variance in the statistical models - so you should ask the foundry whether this is supposed to happen. However, the mechanics of suppressing the error would be to use Simulation->Options->Analog, go to the Miscellaneous tab, and then the Additional arguments field at the bottom. In that box, type "ignorezerovar=yes".

    Regards,

    Andrew.
