PVS (SilTerra 130nm) not appearing in Cadence.

I have installed PDK that support PVS (Silterra 130nm) in Cadence IC 5.1.41 but I don't have the PVS option appearing in the virtuoso layout editor. Can anyone please guide me?

Thanking you in anticipation.

Have you installed PVS? Do you have <PVSinstDir>bin in your UNIX path? (can you type "pvs -version" in the terminal window and get something back?)

You also have to do Tools->PVS in the layout window to get the PVS menu to appear in IC5141. I'd also ask if you really need to be using a release that came out 15 years ago and the final hot fix was almost 8 years ago?

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Thanks Andrew for the response.

I have only installed PDK provided by SilTerra which they claim that support PVS. I have not installed PVS separately.
Do I have to install PVS separately? If Yes, then from where I can get PVS?

And unfortunately, we have license for this version which is provided by my institution.

    Thanks & Regards

A PDK doesn't provide the software - it just provides the models, the rules, the data needed to use the tools.

The application (PVS) would need to be obtained from http://downloads.cadence.com

For this you'd need a support login, which if you're at a University (which I suspect from your last answer) would probably be whoever is responsible for the Cadence setup in your institution.

I rather doubt that your institution is limited ot using a release from 8-15 years ago. The only case that would happen is if they had a perpetual license and hadn't paid maintenance in the intervening years (this is an unlikely scenario if under the University program). It may be that nobody has bothered installing anything newer, but I doubt very much if the license is limited to such an old version.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
