Plotting temperature w.r.t time( while changing temperature using dynamic parameter in transient analysis.)

I would like to know if there is anyway to plot temperature while changing its value in dynamic parameter w.r.t time. I am aware that in spectre.log , it asserts whenever temperature is changing w.r.t time. I am interested to plot temp.

This can be done, by adding:

    save temp

into the netlist. In ADE (in recent versions), you can do this via Outputs->Save All, and then on the "Save by Subckt" tab, enter "temp" in the Instance column and click elsewhere to add a new row. It's a bit unusual because it's not an instance, but it avoids you having to use an external file.

In older versions, this used to be on the Outputs->To be Saved-> Save By Subckt (I think) menu.

Once done, you can plot it from the tran results in the results browser.

    Regards

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the response. I was able to solve this problem as you suggested by doing save temp in separate file. But using ADE-L  GUI, I wasn't able to do that. I was not able to get "Save by Subckt" tab in Outputs --> Save All.  I am not sure if I am using the latest ADE.

    My virtuoso version is IC6.1.7-64b.500.17.

Let me know if some more details are needed.

    Thanks for helping out.

    Best Regards

    Abhishek

    Hi Abhishek,

I went back and checked in an older ADE version, before the form was moved to be a tab of Outputs->Save All (when it was Outputs->To be saved->Select Subckt Inst). On that form, the instance name is not a type-in field, and so you can't use that approach (sorry - I'd not checked).

So in the (slightly) older version you're using  you'd have to use the external file approach.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
