ERROR (OSSHNL-402):

Hi,

I'm trying to simulate a block's view generated by PEX (Calibre parastic extractor). The block is LVS clean, and it seems no issue when generating the post-layout view.

I have followed the same procedure for other blocks and it worked well. But when generating the netlist for this specific block, I obtain following error:

ERROR (OSSHNL-402): Failed to generate the netlist because it has been corrupted

But I can not find any more info.

Any help will be most appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

Dani

    Hi Dani,

I have seen this issue a couple of times recently, but it would be very useful to know which tool you're using - I'm guessing it's ADE, but which ADE (ADE L, XL, Explorer, Assembler)? Which IC subversion (the Help->About menu will tell you - please report the entire subversion number)? Then I can give some guidance on how to fix this (ideally I'd know how this happens in the first place, which we might stand a chance of finding out via support.cadence.com but probably not in a public forum).

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Thanks, Andrew.

I'm using ADE. I use a Config view in the testbench from where I call the calibre extracted view.

And the IC version is 6.1.7-64b.500.10

Anyway, I will contact you via support.cadence.com

    Regards,

    Dani

    Hi Dani,

Which ADE - ADE L, XL, Explorer or Assembler? I need to know that so I can suggest how to fix it.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Dani,

OK, in that case, I think you'll need to delete the existing simulation directory. Find whatever is shown as the simulation directory under Setup->Simulator/Directory/Host (for which the default is ~/simulation) and then under that directory look for cellName/simulatorName/viewName (so if you top level config is called mylib/mycell/config it would be mycell/spectre/config (assuming the simulator is spectre).

Quit virtuoso (it's safest) and then delete this directory in UNIX (using "rm -r") and then restart virtuoso and try again.

I've seen this happen when something has got messed up with the incremental netlister in ADE, which it ought to be able to recover from but on the rare cases I've seen this it seems remarkably keen to hang onto the problem (hence the suggestion to restart Virtuoso as well).

    Regards,

    Andrew.
