Cannot attach a library file to an existing library

My library was working perfectly fine before and I was able to run calibre DRC. But suddenly it stopped and gave this error " Layout export failed or was cancelled". And then I closed cadence but when I reopened it, I wasn't able to see any schematics or layouts of the cells that used to be working. And then I kept getting this warnings when I tried to open my libraries. I can open other libraries from other owners who have access to this technology but only my libraries are having problems.

Please attach an existing technology library to the design library.

*WARNING* ddGetObjParent: Was passed an invalid Id ((nil))

*WARNING* getDrawSelSet : hilite later is missing

*WARNING* Ruler layer 'hilite darwing4' is missing

I'm using IC514 cadence.

I would check in the library manager and use Right Mouse->Properties over your library name and then look to see what techLibName is set to. Does that library exist? It's a bit strange, because normally if the library doesn't exist it reverts to cdsDefTechLib which normally always exists.

The only time I've had odd problems like this is when I've had a non-writable .cadence directory, but .cadence was not used in IC5141, so that can't be it.

You can use Tools->Technology File Manager and then the "Attach" button to attach a technology library to your design library.

Trying to give you a few suggestions but it's hard to know precisely what is wrong without seeing it.

    Regards,

    Andrew

    Thanks Andrew!

I checked properties and it shows a "Library Property Viewer" window which I cannot edit at ll.

I've tried attaching the technology library again but it keeps giving me the same warning:

*WARNING* ddGetObjParent: Was passed an invalid Id ((nil))

Design library 'Design library' attached to technology library failed.

I tried copying the library cells outside cadence through terminal and this new library was successfully attached to the technology library.

    Thanks again

Something is very messed up with the data. It contains data in both OA (OpenAccess) and CDB format, and these cannot co-exist in a library. The "data.dm" and ".oalib" files suggest that the data is for OpenAccess (which would require IC6.1.X or later to open), but the "prop.xx" suggests that it's CDB (IC5141).

Given there are indications that GIT is being used on the library (not something we support), I'm wondering whether somebody has migrated the data and then used git to update a new version of the library, and ended up with a mixture of old and new format data.

Put another way, the data looks corrupted (by somebody putting data from different tool versions in the same location, which our tools do not allow you to do and would then cause problems).

    Regards,

    Andrew.
