Opening an ADE XL interactive test editor following an Ocean run

Hello,

I usually run multiple simulations at the same time and use ocean script to do that. If I want to view the plots after, I view it in ADEXL environment. If I want to quickly run interactively after, I am neither able to edit the output setup nor able to view the test editor in ADE XL.

1) Could you please let me know why this is happening?

2) Is there an option to change the test editor from Ocean to ADEXL in an interactive run, following an ocean run?

Thanks in advance,

Krithika

Normally you only get a text editor in ADE XL for the test if you ran a simulation using an OCEAN XL script, and then opened the view with ADE XL and then used "Load Setup to Active" rather than "View Results" over the OCEAN history that was saved. If you do that, then you can no longer use the ADE XL test editor because you've just set the active setup to be the OCEAN script.

You can use Load Setup to Active over an older history which was run interactively in ADE XL, or if you had saved a "setup state" then you could re-load that.

However, I'm guessing a bit here because I don't know precisely what you've done...

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hello Andrew,

Thank you very much for your reply. I understand that I cannot open an ADEXL test editor on an Ocean Run history.

However, when I load the ocean setup state, I am not able to edit/delete the signals in the output setup as well. Could you kindly explain why this is happening?  The purpose is just for me to do a quick interactive run following an ocean simulation.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Krithika

    Hi Krithika,

I don't understand what you mean by "load the ocean setup state". Since it's unclear what you're actually doing here, perhaps the best route would be to contact customer support so that you can show an application engineer precisely what you're trying to do and they can then advise you on the right way (or understand the bug if there is one)?

Otherwise posting some screenshots of what you are doing at various steps might make it clearer.

    Andrew.

    Hello Andrew,

Thank you again for your response. I am sorry, maybe I wasn't clear in my previous comment. I will try to explain with screenshots below:

    1) After an ocean run, I do "Load Setup To Active" in my ADEXL window as shown below:

    2) Now, when I try to edit the outputs in the ADE window  for a new Interactive simulation, such as:

    (i) to enable to disable the existing plot/save options:

     (ii) delete the existing outputs:

I am not able to do them and NO error pops up in the CIW window as well. Hope it is a little clearer now. Please let me know why this could be happening.

    Thanks again,

    Krithika
