Feasibility Analyses In Cadence ADE GXL

Hello,

I have recently worked with Circuit optimization using Cadence ADE GXL. I used both the Global and the Local optimizer to final size my circuit against PVT corners, seems everything is ok for me. I read in Cadence documentation help about the Feasibility Analyses, but I didn't understand the purpose of it or what is the difference between it and the global or local optimization?

Anyway, I have tried to run it and see it but I am receiving this error message,

I kindly need your help to solve this issue and to understand the purpose of running the Feasibility analyses

Thank you

If you search in the documentation for "Feasibility Analysis" you'll see that it first checks whether the operating region specs are met for a point, before treating it as a candidate for optimisation. For this  you need to have defined operating region specs though, which you can do by adding an output measurement using the "probe" icon at the top of the outputs pane, then the test name, then "Op Region Spec". You can then define expressions based on operating point parameters for a bunch of components, and specifications for when they are in the right region.

By doing this the feasibility analysis can quickly check that the operating point is in a reasonable place and quickly discard any nonsensical points which are very unlikely to work.

    Andrew.

    Dear Andrew,

I have followed your suggestions and could created the operating point.

Kindly , what is the difference between this operating point and the operating points that I already created before in my output setup, if you look again in my picture please.

I have two questions about this  Op_Region please regarding the below attached picture, after finishing creating it what value I should put in the Output Specification in the ADE XL output setup ?

Second thing there is no specification for Equal or range to define for the values in Op-Region setup

    Thank you in advance
