ICADVM18.1 - using Layout L instead of XL

Hi everyone!

We are encountering a problem because we changed from virtuoso of ICADV12.3 to virtuoso ICADVM18.1.

With ICADV12 we used Layout L. Actually we have the license for GXL but as far as I remember there popped up a question if we want to use Layout L with the GXL license and it worked fine

But after we changed to ICADVM18.1 we only can use Layout XL. I think maybe there is a entry in the .cdsenv file we have to change or delete but I don't know which one.

Any ideas? Thank you for your help in advance.

Best regards
René Hartmann

    Hi René,

In ICADVM181 there is no Virtuoso Layout Suite L. You can however configure XL to be non-schematic driven which turns off much of the connectivity-driven functionality. The idea is that since most of the advanced capabilities require connectivity, moving to VLS XL is desirable, but in case you really don't want that, you can (in the layout editor) go to Options->Connectivity, and on the Configure tab pick "Non schematic driven" which turns off many of the capabilities.

From ICADVM181 ISR5 onwards, you can call:

    lxSetSchematicDriven(nil)

to achieve the same thing (and can do this before opening a layout too).

    Regards,

    Andrew.
