Graph symbols

When you get a graph from ADE L in virtuoso, when you right-click and add a symbol to the graph (x,o,+..) is it possible to increase the size of the graph symbol? As I am trying to make them clear in an IEEE paper. Or is there a different way to save the image for IEEE? saving the data to MATLAB or EXCEL cannot be done as I do not have permission from my Uni to access the folder they get saved in and export the data.

Regards,

Qusai

    Qusai,

Not sure you can increase the size, but which IC subversion are you using (Help->About will tell you). I recall some improvement being made in the display - I just can't quite remember or locate when it happened; knowing which version you're using would help me check.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    Dear Qusai,

As Andrew noted, I was also unable to find a control to increase the marker size. However, I think you will have to be satisfied with expanding the ViVa window to the largest extent you can and creating a screenshot of the plot. I fear that this will not be acceptable for an IEEE publication. The IEEE publishing standards highly recommend the use of vector based graphics for publication - but a screenshot will a bitmapped image. You can create such an image with ViVa, but you need to be able to save the file to disk! Perhaps you could investigate if you can get permission to save your file to disk, I could provide some instructions for saving the plot in an acceptable format.

    Shawn,

ViVA can export SVG images - so these are vector formats (actually, I just realised you were probably saying that). File->Save Image and then change the image format to SVG.

    Andrew.

    Dear Andrew,

I was suggesting the plot could be saved in an SVG format - but my understanding of Qusai’s issue ( perhaps I am not understanding?) is that he does not have permission to save a file (I.e. export) to the UNIX directory in which his Cadence session was initiated. If this is correct, my comment was that he is really limited to taking a screenshot. Hence, I suggested he explore getting the proper permission to allow him to save the file in a vector format to his UNIX server.  Please excuse me for not being clear (again!).

Shawn - no worries. I realised what you were getting at (just after I hit Reply - should have read your reply properly first!). Really appreciate you helping out!

Thank you, I will try to contact my University.

But either way, here is the IC subversion: IC6.1.6-64b.500.14
