Question on ADE Assembler (maestro) corner setup

Hi,

Could I ask in maestro, how to move design vairables in the corner setup up and down to re-sort them? I know I can delete all variables and rebuilt from scratch or modify the sequence in csv files and overwrite the corner setup. But both of these methods are very time-consuming and painful when I have many corners with many design variables.

For instance, as shown below, vdd is above freq. I want to move freq above vdd. What should I do besides rebuilding the corner setup?

Thanks,

Yi

I am sure there may be more efficient ways of accomplishing this, but I usually export the corners to a comma-separated variable file, edit the file and move the lines of the variables to achieve the order I want them. For example, in your case the lines in the exported ".csv" file will begin with  "vdd" and "freq" with the "freq" line following the "vdd" line. Move the "freq" line to a position above the "vdd" line and save the file. You can then import the comma-separated variable file back into the corners setup and overwrite the existing corner (since it will have the same name). That will change the order of your variables with "freq" shown as the first variable.

Did I understand  your question correctly yizhu1 and does this help?

    Shawn

    Hi Shawn,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, this helps. I am aware of the csv file method you described. But if I have many corners with many deisgn variables, using csv file to sort the sequence seems a bit painful. Is there more of a drag and drop type of way to do this? Like how we move the expressions or tests, we can just drag and place it somewhere.

    Thanks,

    Yi

    Hi Yi,

There's no drag and drop to change this, unfortunately. There is a change request (CCR) number 743088 for this (with a few duplicates) but it's not been implemented yet. We did add support for reordering the corner columns (using drag and drop), but not for variable reordering. I would suggest you contact customer support and request a duplicate. A more recent CCR would probably help (most have been filed some time ago).

    Regards,

    Andrew.
