How to fix "*WARNING* file /home/Kaveri/CDS.log Malformed Lock-Stake file.", when running virtuoso?

Hi All,
When I start virtuoso, I have this message:
*WARNING* file /home/Kaveri/CDS.log Malformed Lock-Stake file. Close this program, remove Lock-Stake file manually or using clsAdminTool and restart application.
*WARNING* file /home/Kaveri/CDS.log.2 Malformed Lock-Stake file. Close this program, remove Lock-Stake file manually or using clsAdminTool and restart application.
*WARNING* file /home/Kaveri/CDS.log.3 Malformed Lock-Stake file. Close this program, remove Lock-Stake file manually or using clsAdminTool and restart application.

After waiting a few minutes, virtuoso opens up.
But, how to fix the Warnings?

Best regards,
Marben

    Hi Marben,

The lock files are the "CDS.log.cdslck" files (with the .cdslck suffix). In general these shouldn't be removed (without caution) because it could be that something has true locked the file and it would get corrupted.

However, if it's malformed, then that generally means that the disk filled up whilst the lock file was written or similar. I would double check whether you have other Virtuoso sessions running as that user, and if so, exit those sessions. Then remove the CDS.log.X.cdslck files using rm or using the clsAdminTool utility.

They're ASCII files - so you could take a look at the contents to see if they shed any light on what had the lock.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
